Current Contracts
For over 20 years, Gateway has held four contracts through the National Industries for the Severely Handicapped with the General Services Administration. Gateway manufactures vinyl food handler aprons, impermeable laboratory aprons, painter's plastic dropcloths, and stainless steel framed mirrors.
Through the AbilityOne Program at Gateway, clients learn all phases of manufacturing involved with production work including sewing on industrial sewing machines, using electric garment knives, operating hand and foot grommet tools, using electric sealing machines, operating a drill press and spot-welder, and carton packaging, packing and labeling.
Other in-house contracts at Gateway are: assembly of approximately 100,000 window pivot shoes per month for
FOUR-JAKS, Inc., packaging art prints for Westvaco Corporation, packaging condiment kits for State use and commercial buyers, and packaging items for Greenbrier Technical Services.
Gateway holds thirteen state use contracts with the West Virginia Association of Rehabilitation Facilities. These contracts include one full-time and part-time janitor at the Department of Health and Human Resources in Fairlea, a part-time janitor at the Department of Highways equipment garage in Lewisburg, Union, Harts Run and storage building in Lewisburg. Part-time janitor at the Department of Highways office in Lewisburg, Harts Run, and four part-time janitors at the District 9 Headquarters office in Lewisburg. Part-time office work is being done at the Department of Health and Human Resources in Fairlea and Union. Gateway mows and clean-up maintenance on eight sportsman stream access sites for the Department of Natural Resources located at Renick, Tuckahoe Lake, Lowell, Talcott, Barger Springs, Willowwood, Sandstone, and Mountain View Lake in Jumping Branch.
Gateway has one part-time office worker and performs total facility maintenance at the Interstate Rest Area Welcome Center on 1-64 twenty-four hours a day. There are three full-time and seven part-time clients doing the following: lawn care (mowing and mulching), snow removal (sidewalks and parking lot), janitorial work in bathrooms, small repairs such as fixing leaking faucets, and parking lot clean-up.
Two of Gateway's clients received commendations from the West Virginia Commissioner of Highways and former Governor Caperton for their help in aiding traveling motorists. Gateway's proactive approach to contract solicitation is proof-positive of their commitment to the clients they serve.
